China condemns the death of Ali Khamenei for «violating the sovereignty and security» of Iran.

Beijing (EFE) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China expressed its condemnation of the death of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which occurred this weekend, arguing that it was a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and security. The action carried out by the United States and Israel was described as a violation of the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter, as well as of the norms of international relations, according to a statement from the Chinese ministry published on its website this Sunday. Chinese authorities expressed their rejection and condemnation, while demanding the cessation of military actions. The Foreign Ministry also called for the prevention of increased tensions and for the protection of peace and stability in the Middle East and worldwide. Last Saturday, the Asian country expressed its concern over the attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran, emphasising that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the latter must be respected, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
