Beijing (EFE) – On Tuesday, the Chinese military announced that it had conducted «long-range live-fire training» in waters south of Taiwan. This activity is in addition to exercises carried out just hours earlier to the north of the island and is part of the maneuvers that Beijing is undertaking in relation to this territory. At 13:00 (05:00 GMT) on 30 December, troops from the Eastern Theatre Command of the People’s Liberation Army conducted a live-fire exercise and simultaneously carried out a joint long-range attack drill involving naval, aerial, and rocket units in the waters south of Taiwan, according to a military statement. This exercise took place four hours after a similar drill in waters north of the island, and in both cases, the «expected results» were achieved, according to the Command.
