Consumption warns of a gap of 23,600 euros between the incomes of landlords and tenants.

Madrid. This Tuesday, the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030 has indicated that there is a wealth disparity of approximately €23,638 between property owners and tenants. Tenants have a median income of €28,810, while landlords reach €52,449, which represents an 82% increase. This is the conclusion of a report prepared by the ministry led by Pablo Bustinduy, who expressed his opposition to the proposal by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to offer a 100% tax relief on personal income tax to landlords who do not increase rental prices in 2026. This tax deduction would compensate the gains that landlords would make if they decided to raise the rent on the 632,369 contracts that need to be renewed in 2026, which impact approximately 1.6 million people, as Sánchez explained.
