Delcy Rodríguez asserts that no «external agent» governs in Venezuela.

Caracas. The interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that there is no «external agent» directing the country, in response to comments made by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, regarding facilitating a transition in the nation. «We are here directing the country alongside the citizens; the Government of Venezuela is the one in control, no one else, there is no external entity directing Venezuela,» Rodríguez asserted during the installation of the commission of the Agro-Food, Fishing, Community, and Industrial High Command, in a broadcast by the state channel Venezolana de Televisión. Rodríguez pointed out that the Venezuelan population is mobilised in the streets, protesting for the release of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, who were detained by the United States following a military attack in Caracas and three surrounding states. «We have increased our strength and grown spiritually to face the challenges, the aggression, and the threats.»
