Denmark and Sweden offer to hospitalise victims of the fire in Switzerland that caused forty deaths.

Crans Montana (Switzerland) (EFE).- On Friday, authorities from Denmark and Sweden expressed their willingness to admit victims of the New Year’s Eve fire in a bar in Crans Montana, which has resulted in at least 40 fatalities and 115 injuries. Sweden’s Minister of Health, Elisabeth Lann, announced that they have offered Switzerland medical transport units and beds in intensive care units for burn patients. A celebration at a nightclub in Crans Montana turned into tragedy after midnight when a fire broke out rapidly, trapping the young people who were celebrating the arrival of 2026. The fire and smoke hampered the evacuation of people in the celebration area, located in the basement of the establishment, preventing their exit via the stairs leading to the terrace. It also obstructed the efforts of young people waiting in line outside the venue to enter and assist the victims, according to collected testimonies.
