Doctors are going on strike again in several regions to demand their own statute.

The Professional Group for a Medical and Healthcare Statute (Apemyf) has organised a doctors’ strike in several regions over the next two days to protest against the framework statute being negotiated by the Ministry of Health and to demand specific regulations for this professional group. Apemyf has called for a new strike that will affect all professionals in Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country, Galicia, Navarre, the Valencian Community, Murcia, and Asturias, as well as primary care doctors across the country. The new two-day strike will feature protests in various cities, including Madrid, where the Madrid doctors’ union Amyts has organised a march from the Congress to the Ministry of Health. There will be two demonstrations in Barcelona organised by Metges de Catalunya: the first will be this Wednesday at 10:30, starting in Plaça de Sant Jaume and heading towards the Parlament de Catalunya, and the other will take place tomorrow, covering the route between the Corporate Centre of the Catalan Institute of Health and the Catalan Hospitals Union.
