Starting this Monday, farmers will begin a new week of protests in response to the possible reduction of subsidies from the Common Agricultural Policy and other issues related to the agreement between the European Union and Mercosur. Agricultural organisations in Spain have decided to continue the demonstrations, as they believe there are valid reasons to protest in support of the agricultural sector. They are concerned about the negotiation of the CAP and the future European budget, as the Commission’s proposal could imply a reduction in subsidies and other challenges for the sector.
Farmers return to the fray with a week of protests beyond Mercosur.
