Madrid. This Monday, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will present himself before the Commission of Investigation on the Dana in the Congress, where he has been summoned to clarify the information he received regarding the disaster from the former president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón. The commission will resume its sessions in the new year with the participation of Feijóo, who will respond about his communications during the crisis. Feijóo, summoned by the Commission’s Board, will reiterate what he previously stated before the judge in Catarroja who is investigating the management of the Dana on 9 January. He indicated that Mazón told him that the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, suggested that the emergency management should be carried out from Valencia, and for that reason, a national emergency was not declared. Regarding the information he received from the former president of Valencia, he noted that it was from the moment he showed interest in the situation in the province of Valencia at 19:59 on 29 October, and from that moment, Mazón and he exchanged 23 communications in just over three hours. The vice president of the commission and deputy of IU, Nahuel González, announced that they would subject Feijóo to a «rigorous interrogation,» asking him questions about why he «protected» Mazón until the situation became «unsustainable.» The PSOE has opined that it is appropriate for Feijóo to attend, as he must confront his «lies and irresponsibilities» and provide clarifications regarding his attempts to «save» Mazón. Additionally, on Monday afternoon, María Amparo López, one of those responsible for the 112 calls during the day of the tragedy, will also appear before the Dana commission.
