Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the PP, has argued in his testimony before the judge that the floods affecting the south of Valencia in October 2024 constituted a case of national emergency that the central Government should have handled. He pointed out that the Ministry of the Interior should have been responsible for managing that disaster. In its absence, he believes that the responsibility fell on the vice-presidency held by Teresa Ribera, given that the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation and the State Meteorological Agency are under the supervision of the Ministry for Ecological Transition. The judge responded that the regional government is responsible for the special flood plan of the Comunitat Valenciana, according to sources present during the virtual declaration.
Feijóo maintains that the dana was a national emergency that the Government should have addressed.
