Madrid (EFE).- This Monday, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the Popular Party, stated that 2026 will be the year of change, following what he considers the worst year of government in the democratic history of Spain, due to the collapse of Sánchez’s policies, which affects the lives of citizens. The PP leader conducted an analysis of the year 2025 at the party’s headquarters, where he highlighted that scandals, corruption, and the government’s performance have caused a deterioration in social cohesion and have impacted the economy, infrastructure, public services, and Spain’s international reputation. He declared that, upon taking office in La Moncloa, it will be a priority to address three tasks; one of which involves undertaking a political, institutional, and moral cleansing through an audit of the events that have occurred. The second task is to ensure safety on the streets and at the borders, promoting legal and orderly immigration. And the third is to restore the value of work, as currently in Spain, many citizens work more, contribute higher taxes, and have a lower quality of life, in addition to having worse public services. Feijóo noted that the collapse of Sánchez’s policies has been evidenced by ten failures, including in parliament, as Sánchez has lost the support of his allies, which could lead to this being the first government that does not manage to pass a budget throughout the entire legislature.
Feijóo promises that 2026 will be the year of change after «the total collapse of Sánchez’s government.»
