This Sunday, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the Popular Party, met with his collaborators to request that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, withdraw his autonomous financing plan and engage in dialogue with the PP to develop a new proposal that includes all the autonomous communities. A day before his meeting with Sánchez, Feijóo convened in Zaragoza the regional presidents of the PP and the party leaders in the communities where they are not in power, with the aim of signing the ‘Zaragoza Declaration’ and demonstrating cohesion before the Government. Feijóo has stated that Sánchez uses the issue of autonomous financing to foster conflict, which he believes is his tactic to remain in power. Moreover, he has emphasised that what is needed is not a confrontation between parties, but rather bringing together the regional presidents to establish a system that is not based on rewards and sanctions.
