The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has pointed out that the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has «disappeared» amid the doubts arising around the railway tragedy in Adamuz, and has urged the Government to come forward and «acknowledge the errors». «Mourning cannot be an excuse for a lack of transparency, as mourning does not exempt the Government from its responsibilities, one of which is to ensure safety in the railway system,» he emphasised at a press conference. «The condition of the roads reflects the situation of the country,» stated Feijóo, who stressed that the Government «must recognise the seriousness of what is happening in the railway system.» In this context, he stated that it is «impossible» to simplify what is occurring as mere «setbacks» and emphasised that the recent incidents «are not isolated cases», but rather represent «a sign that essential public services are not operating».
