France prepares «repercussions» to respond to the USA alongside its European partners over Greenland.

Paris.- On Wednesday, France’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, stated that the country is developing a plan to «take measures in response» alongside its European allies to any form of «intimidation» coming from the United States, particularly concerning its interest in acquiring Greenland. In a conversation on France Inter radio, the minister asserted that the French Foreign Ministry has initiated actions «to prepare us to take retaliatory measures, to react, and not to do so in isolation.» The goal is to be «persuasive and forceful» in the face of President Donald Trump’s intention to annex Greenland. Barrot clarified that France will share its strategy, which will be ready «in the coming days,» with its European allies, as «in response to these signs of intimidation,» Paris wishes to act, but in a coordinated manner with them. He indicated that he will have the opportunity to discuss this topic with his colleagues from Germany and Poland this afternoon, with whom France forms «a triptych, a trio capable of influencing Europe.»
