Freezing cold during the parades: the AEMET warns that temperatures will be below zero in many areas

The State Meteorological Agency has warned of cold weather for this Monday, the day before the Feast of the Three Kings, with snowfall expected in the centre and north of the country. During the parades, many areas in the north, centre, and east of the Peninsula will experience temperatures below zero. In regions of the Cantabrian coast and the southeastern Peninsula, the parades may be affected by rain or snow. The week began with a drop in temperatures and snowfall in lower-lying areas in the north and centre, as well as rain in the southeast of the Peninsula. Madrid has experienced snowfall that has not caused any issues, thanks to the preventive measures taken by the City Council. Snow began to fall in all districts of the capital without any traffic incidents. Since Sunday, the City Council has activated a preventive plan with machines spreading salt on the main roads and in key locations. The snowstorm in Castilla-La Mancha has caused incidents, especially in Guadalajara, due to the accumulation of snow or ice on the roads. Storm Francis will bring cloudy skies across much of the country, with rain in the centre and the southeastern quadrant of the Peninsula, as well as in Ceuta, Melilla, and the Balearic Islands, with the possibility of storms in Alborán and along the coasts of Murcia. An Arctic air current is impacting the northern half of the Peninsula, bringing a front that will cause rain in the latter part of the day in Galicia, the Cantabrian coast, and the upper Ebro, with precipitation falling as snow at altitudes of 400/600 metres.
