The news that Gabriel Rufián, spokesperson for ERC in Congress, and Irene Montero from Podemos will hold a public event on 9 April in Barcelona has rekindled the political landscape to the left of the PSOE, generating calls for unity to counter the far-right. The event, which follows the conversation Rufián had in February with the regional deputy of Más Madrid, Emilio Delgado, is titled ‘Què s’ha de fer?’ (What must be done?). Rufián’s circle clarifies that this should not be seen as the beginning of a possible alliance or a joint candidacy, and they add that it will be an event where each will present their proposals regarding the state of the left.
Gabriel Rufián and Irene Montero stir the left once again by announcing a public event together.
