Mérida (EFE).- The interim president of Extremadura, María Guardiola, is facing a vote in the regional parliament to determine whether she will continue to lead the Junta of Extremadura, with no clarity regarding the support of Vox, which has not revealed its voting decision. The majority needed for the initial vote depends on Vox’s support, whose leaders in Extremadura avoided making comments to the media after the first session of the investiture debate, in which Guardiola presented some of the policies she plans to implement if elected. The acting president of Extremadura stated that there are no incompatibilities between Vox and the PP. Additionally, Guardiola emphasised the joint actions carried out by the PP and Vox during their coalition government, which have been effective. The Popular Party candidate expressed her frustration over the obstacles and lost time, stating that she is running for the investiture with the aim of providing stability and reaching agreements. Guardiola clarified that she will focus on what unites them. In her view, there are points on which they agree and others on which they do not, which is natural as they do not belong to the same party. Despite the Vox leaders not wanting to clarify what their vote will be, the Vox spokesperson in Congress, Pepa Millán, linked her party’s decision to Guardiola’s speech.
