Haiti recorded more than 8,100 murders between January and November 2025, according to the UN.

Between January and November 2025, more than 8,100 homicides were recorded in Haiti, although this figure is considered to be lower than the actual number, due to difficulties in accessing areas controlled by gangs, according to a report from the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti published on Wednesday. The report indicates that armed violence in Haiti has increased in urban and peri-urban areas, where gangs employ weapons and carry out attacks on multiple fronts. At the same time, it noted that in 2025 the proliferation of gangs outside the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince continued to undermine the authority of the State and affect humanitarian and commercial routes. Between 1 September and 30 November 2025, Haiti reported a total of 1,991 deaths from homicide, including 142 women, 12 girls, and 44 boys, representing a decrease of 6.2% compared to the previous quarter.
