The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas stated that it is ready to transfer the management of Gaza this week to the technocratic committee led by engineer Ali Shaaz, which was established and has begun its activities in Cairo. An anonymous source claimed that Hamas «confirmed» in the meetings «its willingness» to transfer the management of the Gaza Strip to the new committee. Furthermore, it indicated that the movement has reached an agreement with Egyptian mediators on the handover process, noting that the movement’s leaders who are outside the Strip have instructed their affiliated organisations and factions to prepare to relinquish their positions and hand over all relevant documentation.
Hamas says it is prepared to hand over the administration of Gaza to the technocratic committee.
