Hundreds of farmers from the European Union gathered near the headquarters of the European Parliament in Strasbourg to lobby MEPs ahead of their vote on the trade agreement with Mercosur before the Court of Justice of the EU. Three days after the signing of the agreement in Paraguay, European farmers responded to the call of the National Federation of Agricultural Unions, which expressed its opposition to the pact with Mercosur in Paris, using tractors. According to Arnaud Rousseau, the president of the FNSEA, the aim is to gather up to 700 tractors and 4,000 protesters in Strasbourg.
Hundreds of farmers are trying to convince the European Parliament to bring Mercosur to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
