India postpones negotiations on its trade agreement with the US following the ruling on tariffs.

India and the United States postponed negotiations to finalise their temporary trade agreement following the US Supreme Court’s decision regarding President Donald Trump’s tariff policy. The Ministry of Commerce is assessing the situation, and the delegation will need to determine when new negotiations will commence, said India’s Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman. New Delhi and Washington have delayed the trip of the technical delegation led by negotiator Darpan Jain, which was scheduled to depart for the US. They took this step due to the need to analyse the legal ramifications of the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the majority of the tariffs imposed by Trump, as well as the reaction from the president, who announced a global tax of 15% for all countries.
