Martín’s remains were discovered at 8:47 this morning, local time, by a police boat, approximately 1.13 nautical miles from the site where the tourist boat sank on 26 December, with him, his wife, and four children onboard. Two Spaniards, Andrea Ortuño, who is Fernando Martín’s wife, and their daughter, were rescued after the accident. After finding the body today, the Indonesian authorities have extended the search for the other two missing Spanish children, who are Martín’s son and Andrea Ortuño’s son. They had both recently got married. The tourist boat KM Putri Sakinah sank in the waters of Padar Island, which is part of Komodo National Park, at approximately 20:30 local time on 26 December. Following the incident, an initial search was launched using speedboats, which was later expanded. The Police have initiated an investigation to determine if the crew committed any wrongdoing that caused the accident.
