Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abas Araqchi, claimed that the country will not create a nuclear weapon under any circumstances, although it will not abandon its nuclear technology, just two days before the next round of talks with the United States. Araqchi asserted that Iran will not allow the development of nuclear weapons and that Iranians will not renounce their right to benefit from nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The Foreign Minister and Iran’s negotiator will participate in the round of negotiations on Thursday in Geneva with the aim of reaching an agreement. These talks are taking place in the context of military threats from the United States, which has deployed US forces near the Islamic Republic. According to Araqchi, both opponents have an opportunity to reach an agreement that addresses each other’s concerns and meets the interests of both sides. «An agreement is possible, but only if diplomacy is prioritised,» he stated.
Iran asserts that it will not develop a nuclear weapon, but it will not abandon atomic technology.
