Israel attacks the surroundings of a pro-Palestine demonstration in Tehran.

Tehran (EFE).- This Friday, Israel carried out an attack near a demonstration in support of Palestine, where thousands gathered in central Tehran, including the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani. As thousands of people marched in central Tehran, an explosion was heard and a cloud of smoke rose. The demonstrators responded by shouting “Allah is great,” as seen in videos released by Iranian media. A little before the explosion, the Israeli Defence Forces reported that they planned to attack military facilities in two areas of the Iranian capital, including the Maniriyeh area, which is close to the University of Tehran, where a demonstration was taking place, and they urged civilians to leave the area. Despite the warning, the demonstrators took to the streets to commemorate ‘Al Quds Day’ (Jerusalem), a date established in 1979 by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini with the aim of calling for the liberation of Palestine and the downfall of Israel, which is observed annually on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. Among the demonstrators was Larijani, who was present in the crowd despite Israel having killed several high-ranking officials during the war, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. “Donald Trump lacks the intelligence necessary to understand that the people of Iran are a mature, strong, and determined people.”
