Cairo (EFE) – This Sunday, the Israeli armed forces carried out airstrikes in several areas of southern Lebanon. The Israeli government claimed that the Lebanese Shia group Hizbollah had tunnels for storing weapons, despite the ceasefire that has been in effect since November 2024 and the group’s disarmament process. The National News Agency of Lebanon reported that Israeli fighter jets conducted strikes in the towns of Basaliya, Siniya, Tabna, Mahmoudiya, Al Damashqiya, and Al Rihan, and recorded bombings in the Al Bureij region over the course of an hour. So far, the effects of this series of attacks are unknown, and health authorities in Lebanon have not reported any deaths or injuries due to the bombings. Reports from local Lebanese media indicate that airstrikes have been recorded in the south of the country.
