Israel will halt the activities of 37 NGOs operating in Gaza in January, including MSF.

The Government of Israel has decided to revoke the licences of 37 non-governmental organisations working in Gaza and the West Bank, including Médecins Sans Frontières, arguing that some of their employees «participated in terrorist activities,» according to a representative of the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism. The ministry claims that these organisations did not provide the Israeli authorities with «complete and verifiable information about their staff,» and accuses Médecins Sans Frontières of having «associated individuals» linked to Palestinian Islamist groups «such as Islamic Jihad and Hamas.» In March 2025, the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu implemented new criteria for granting licences to international non-governmental organisations working in the occupied Palestinian territories.
