Japan kicked off this Sunday the electoral day for early general elections, opening more than 44,600 polling stations at 07:00 local time, amidst snowfall in various areas of the archipelago. In Tokyo, the first flakes began to fall on Saturday morning, and this Sunday the temperatures will not exceed one degree Celsius. In other areas where snowfall was expected, authorities chose to delay the start of classes or to end them earlier, based on weather forecasts.
