Juan Pablo Guanipa, an opposition leader close to María Corina Machado, is being released in Venezuela.

Juan Pablo Guanipa, an opposition leader in Venezuela and ally of María Corina Machado, was released this Sunday after more than eight months in prison, according to his son, Ramón Guanipa. Ramón Guanipa reported that his father was freed and that the whole family would soon be able to reunite. He shared a video in which his father announced his release and mentioned that there is much to discuss about the present and future of Venezuela. Machado expressed her joy at the release of the former deputy of the opposition party Primero Justicia and described him as a hero.
