The head of Ukraine’s Energy Ministry, Denys Shmyhal, reported on an attack by Russia during the night from Friday to Saturday, targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Shmyhal highlighted on his Telegram account that the bombardment is ongoing. He added that workers are ready to start repairs as soon as conditions permit. According to the Ukrainian Energy Minister, the Russian attack targeted two substations and lines that make up Ukraine’s electricity network, as well as two power generation plants, one located in Dobrótvir and the other in Burshtín, both situated in western Ukraine. As a result of the attack, the Ukrainian energy company Ukrenergo requested emergency aid from Poland.
