Since the start of the conflict due to the Russian invasion, approximately 90,000 Ukrainians have been reported missing, according to Artur Dobroserdov, the Ukrainian state commissioner for those missing in special circumstances. Most people on this list are members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Many soldiers on the missing list have died on the battlefield or have been captured by Russia. President Volodymyr Zelensky provided the most recent official figure for Ukrainian soldiers who have died in the conflict, which stands at 55,000. Additionally, Zelensky mentioned that there are 7,000 Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russian hands.
