Maduro and Flores will be tried in the US for narco-terrorism, according to the Attorney General.

The Attorney General of the United States, Pam Bondi, stated that the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Lady, Cilia Flores, will face trial in a federal court in New York. She highlighted the formal charges against Maduro since 2020, which include four counts, including conspiracy to commit narcoterrorism. Bondi indicated that Maduro and Flores have received formal charges in the Southern District of New York, mentioning the indictment supported by a grand jury in March 2020. Since 2020, Maduro has faced accusations of conspiracy related to narcoterrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, as well as possession of machine guns and destructive devices, in addition to conspiracy to possess these weapons against the United States. In the United States, these charges could result in sentences ranging from twenty years to life imprisonment. Bondi commented that they will soon face justice in the United States on its territory and before its courts, expressing her gratitude to the US President and the armed forces for their intervention in Venezuela. Since he was indicted in 2020, the US Government has increased the reward for information leading to his capture, rising from $15 million to $50 million.
