In an interview, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stated that the defence system of his nation has ensured the territorial integrity of Venezuela, when asked about a potential ground attack by the United States, which he neither confirmed nor denied. «The national defence system, which integrates popular, military, and police forces, has secured the integrity of the territory, peace in the nation, and the use of all our lands, allowing our people to feel safe,» Maduro stated when questioned by Ignacio Ramonet about the ground attack. In the interview that aired on the state channel VTV, the president mentioned that he would be able to discuss the matter in «a few days.»
