Mónica Oltra has expressed her desire to return to active politics to run for the mayoralty of Valencia in the upcoming municipal elections. Oltra made this announcement during an event of her party, Iniciativa, which is part of the coalition Compromís. This event is taking place at the cultural complex La Petxina in Valencia, where its seventh ordinary congress is being held. This has been her first public event three weeks after a court in Valencia decided to initiate an oral trial against her and some members of her team for the alleged cover-up of sexual abuse against a minor committed by her ex-husband.
