This Monday, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, along with his wife, Cilia Flores, pleaded not guilty to the charges in his first appearance before the Southern District Court of New York. Barry Pollack, Maduro’s lawyer, indicated in court that he would not be requesting bail for the president at this time, although he did not rule out the possibility of doing so in the future.
