Óscar Puente does not believe that Sánchez will bring forward elections: «It’s a key year to finish the job.»

Óscar Puente, the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and provincial secretary of the PSOE in Valladolid, commented that he does not consider it likely that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will call early general elections, as he intends to complete the legislature. In an informative breakfast held in Soria alongside the Socialist candidate for the Presidency of the Junta de Castilla y León, Carlos Martínez, Puente stated that the decision to bring forward the elections lies with the president. However, he added that, regardless of the circumstances, Sánchez appeals to national reasons to stick to the established electoral calendar. Puente argued in favour of the state reasons to continue with the plan for general elections in 2027, as he believes it is the most appropriate for the administration of the country. Additionally, he believes that the position of the Spanish Government regarding the war is positioning it as a global leader.
