The president of the Jury Tribunal of the Palma Court has imposed a sentence of permanent revisable imprisonment on the mother of a baby approximately 26 or 27 weeks old, who in November 2023 was discarded in a bin in Porto Cristo after being born in a car. The ruling establishes a sentence of permanent revisable imprisonment for the brother-in-law of the main accused, who threw the newborn into the rubbish. The brother-in-law’s partner, who is the sister of the convicted mother, will have to pay a fine of 5,400 euros for failing to provide assistance. The popular jury reached a unanimous verdict of guilt against Y.M.L., the baby’s mother, as well as against her brother-in-law G.P.Z., for the events that occurred on 2 November 2023 on L’Aterratge Street in Porto Cristo.
