The magistrate in charge of the case concerning the deaths of six young people in Santander, following the collapse of a coastal footbridge, has summoned local police to give evidence on 27 March. They had received a call from 112 regarding the deterioration of that structure, as well as the operator of that emergency service as a witness. She has requested additional information and documentation related to those calls and the coastal route to which the emergency footbridge belongs, from both the Town Hall and Coastal Services. The judge has also summoned as witnesses, on 27 March, the neighbour who had called 112 the day before the incident to report that the footbridge was damaged. She has additionally requested that the two cyclists who reported the breakage of the footbridge and heard the only survivor calling for help, as well as the two national police officers who inspected the accident site, appear to testify that day. In the decision issued yesterday, the judge highlighted the report she received from the National Police, describing it as detailed and produced in a record time.
