President Yoweri Museveni wins the elections in Uganda.

The President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, secured victory in the elections held last Thursday, where he was vying for a seventh term after being in power since 1986. The official results, released by the Electoral Commission, have been rejected by the opposition. According to the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Judge Simon Byabakama, Museveni, leader of the National Resistance Movement, received 7.9 million votes (71.65%), which allows him to secure re-election without the need for a second round. In second place was the singer and opposition leader Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, who obtained 2.7 million votes (24.72%). He rejected the results released by the Electoral Commission and accused them of fraud on an election day that was marked by technical problems and a temporary internet blackout imposed by the authorities.
