Protests are intensifying in a disconnected Iran, encouraged from exile by a son of the shah and supported by the U.S.

Iran has been in protest for two weeks, with over 50 fatalities. These demonstrations have been driven by Reza Pahlavi, who has urged Iranians to continue with the mobilisations and to begin a general strike to challenge the Islamic Republic. Furthermore, the country has been without access to the internet or international telephone services for nearly 48 hours. Pahlavi, who has been in exile since 1979, expressed on his social media that they aim to take control of urban centres and maintain that presence.
