Madrid.- The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, stated that no further dismissals related to the railway accidents are contemplated, following those announced in Rodalies and Adif. He also expressed his surprise at the statements made by the president of the Investigation Commission examining the derailment in Adamuz. During the press conference that followed the Council of Ministers, Puente asserted that he would not participate in any public debate with the president of the CIAF on matters that should not be discussed. He pointed out that this is an issue that is irrelevant in terms of safety. Any discussion regarding the renewal or not of certain sections of track, especially in the locations of the accident, is irrelevant from a safety perspective, as, according to Puente, it has had no influence on the causes of the accident.
Puente dismisses further dismissals «for the moment» and expresses his «surprise» at the statements made by the chairman of the Inquiry Committee.
