Putin stated that it is a murder, conducted in violation of the norms. «I express my condolences for the murder of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Sayyid Ali Khamenei, and for his loved ones, an act that represents a violation of the norms of human ethics and international law,» Putin said in a telegram sent to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The Kremlin leader requested his Iranian counterpart to send condolences and messages of support to the people of the Islamic Republic, and affirmed that in Russia, Khamenei will be remembered as a statesman who contributed to the strengthening of relations between the two nations.
