Rain of 180 litres and one missing person in Girona due to the storm affecting the Mediterranean.

In the Empordà (Girona), rainfall exceeding 180 litres in a 12-hour period has prompted the activation of a red alert. One person is reported missing, swept away by the floods, along with blocked roads and other incidents. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a red alert in Catalonia due to risks in the Empordà, in place until 3 PM this Tuesday, because of expected rainfall that could lead to flooding and overflow. The meteorological entity has urged citizens to follow «the indications of Civil Protection». In Girona, emergency services are searching for a resident of Palau-sator who was swept away along with his vehicle by the storm, which is causing the overflow of streams, while rivers in the province are exceeding risk levels.
