Two F-16 fighter jets from the Romanian Air Force were dispatched to the area due to the sighting of drones near the border with Ukraine, where authorities are searching for wreckage of these unmanned aerial vehicles that were involved in a Russian attack. The Romanian Ministry of Defence reported that the fighter jets took off from Fetesti Air Base at 01:40 local time. An alert was issued for residents of the Tulcea region, valid until 03:00 local time. Authorities are checking an area near the locality of Plauru, where it is believed that drone debris may have fallen. Russian forces launched another wave of drone attacks targeting civilian areas and infrastructure in Ukraine, near the border with Romania in Tulcea County. «The search will resume during the day when visibility improves,» stated sources from the Ministry of Defence.
