Gabriel Rufián, spokesperson for ERC in Congress, stated that his objective in provoking political debate is to «secure seats for Vox in every province,» warning that if the left does not revitalise, «illegalities, imprisonments, and great social suffering are looming.» Rufián anticipated that «what is coming is not a healthy alternation, but something wild, with imitators of Milei and Trump.» Despite the rejection from the ERC leadership of his proposals for left-wing unity, Rufián asserted: «I don’t care if I go home this afternoon or if they force me to resign.» He made these statements at the beginning of a discussion at a concert hall in Madrid, alongside Emilio Delgado, regional MP for Más Madrid, at an event that featured representatives from Movimiento Sumar, IU, Comuns, the Chunta, Compromís, and other parties, as well as colleagues from ERC and Más Madrid. Rufián emphasised that «I am not asking anyone to renounce their identity, what they defend, or their history,» and called for «order, efficiency, and method in every province,» as that is the way to «defeat VOX,» not through tweets on social media.
