Russia and Ukraine discussed the criteria for ending the conflict in the first round of trilateral negotiations mediated by the United States, which concluded in Abu Dhabi. «The main focus of the talks has been on the possible criteria for concluding the war (..) It has been debated and it is essential that the discussions have been constructive,» stated Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, in a message on X. A Russian source mentioned from Abu Dhabi that «results» were achieved during the nearly three hours of private dialogue, although neither party wanted to specify what those advances were, according to the TASS agency. The next trilateral round is expected to take place the following week, as reported by both delegations, once the negotiators inform and coordinate «the next steps» with their respective leaders, explained Zelensky.
