Russia attacks the centre of Lviv, including a site protected by UNESCO.

Lviv (Ukraine) (EFE).- This Tuesday, Russia carried out an attack in the centre of Lviv, a Ukrainian city located 70 kilometres from the border with Poland. The bombing left 22 people injured and caused damage to a building protected by UNESCO, according to local authorities. The assault caused a fire in three-storey buildings in the area of St Andrew’s Church, as well as in the old Bernardino monastery, as reported by Mayor Andriy Sadovyi. A second drone collided with a nine-storey building in the Sykhiv district, while parts of a drone fell on a street near the city centre. «There are 22 people injured in the hospitals of Lviv,» the mayor reported via Telegram. The head of the Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozystski, indicated that at least one house and infrastructure elements were also impacted in three areas of the province. Ukraine’s Prime Minister, Yulia Sviridenko, expressed her concern on social media platform X regarding the Russian-Iranian manufactured drone attack, noting that «Russia is bombing an urban area.»
