Russia has expressed its willingness to engage in negotiations with the United States to establish a new arms control agreement following the conclusion of START III. However, China remains hesitant for the time being. «Both nations, Russia and the USA, recognise the urgency of starting talks on this matter soon,» commented Dmitri Peskov, spokesperson for the Kremlin. For his part, the American president, Donald Trump, rejected Russia’s suggestion to extend the treaty limits and proposed negotiating a new agreement.
