Madrid. This Tuesday, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, is heading to Paris to attend a meeting of the Coalition of Volunteers for Ukraine, a gathering organised by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, aimed at strengthening support for Kyiv. This will be Sánchez’s first trip abroad this year, which will prevent him from attending the Military Easter ceremony, presided over by Felipe VI at the Royal Palace. The most recent meeting of the Coalition of Volunteers, a group promoted by France and the United Kingdom that includes around thirty countries, took place on 11 December last year via videoconference. On this occasion, with a physical event and the presence of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, Macron has indicated that the purpose is to establish commitments to safeguard Ukraine and ensure peace in Europe. Zelensky met at the end of last year in Florida with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to advance a peace plan that has yet to materialise.
