Storm Marta: Flooding, evacuations and 168 roads closed in Spain due to the severe weather.

The storm of rain and snow in Spain has led to the closure of 168 roads, more than 80 per cent in Andalusia. Flooding has caused damage to infrastructure and agricultural activities, as well as forcing the evacuation of 11,000 people. Storms from the Atlantic Ocean have caused rivers to overflow and have saturated aquifers and soils in the southwest of the country. The town of Grazalema has been evacuated. The port of Algeciras has suspended departures to Tangier Med, which is closed. A new storm, named «Marta,» is approaching the Iberian Peninsula. Eleven autonomous communities and Ceuta are on alert for rain, winds, snowfall, and maritime conditions. Andalusia is under an orange alert due to accumulations of more than 80 litres per square metre in 12 hours in locations such as Grazalema, Ronda, Aracena, and the northern Sierra of Seville. Snowfall is anticipated in the central area and in the north of the peninsula.
