The bar that caught fire in the Swiss Alps had not been under control for the last five years.

The mayor of Crans Montana reported that the safety of the bar had not been supervised in the last five years. During a press conference, Nicolas Féraud admitted that he cannot explain why the regulations requiring annual safety checks in public venues have not been adhered to. However, he clarified that the regulations do not require the inspection of materials in the facilities of public places such as the bar «Le Constellation» during safety checks. According to evidence, the foam on the ceiling facilitated the spread of the fire, resulting in the death of 40 people.
