The full Congress has started its extraordinary session with a minute of silence in honour of the victims of the train accidents in Adamuz and Gelida. The President of the Chamber, Francina Armengol, requested the deputies to stand in honour of the 45 victims of the accident in Adamuz and the train driver who died in Gelida. The minute of silence has also been used to pay tribute to Victoria, a victim of gender-based violence in Málaga. Congress has resumed its sessions with an extraordinary session in which the Government will assess its support in Parliament, although it does not have the necessary votes to validate its decree-law on the increase of pensions. The PP (People’s Party) and Junts have stated that they will not offer their support, as the decree contains other provisions they disagree with. Junts has not explicitly stated it will vote against, but their decision to abstain is not sufficient for the decree to be approved. Both parties have requested the Government to authorise the advancement of their proposals.
